Camera not working in Zoom
Check the camera works with the test above first. If it does, the fix is in Zoom's settings or permissions.

Start with a quick test
Steps
- 1
Start video and choose the camera
Click the arrow next to Start Video and pick your camera. Outside a meeting, open Settings › Video.
- 2
Close other apps using the camera
Call apps, camera utilities and other browser tabs can hold the camera. Quit them, including from the system tray or menu bar, then try again.
- 3
Allow Zoom at the system level
Mac: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera, switch on zoom.us. Windows: Settings › Privacy & security › Camera, allow desktop apps.
- 4
Check the privacy shutter and camera key
Many laptops have a sliding cover over the camera, or a key on the top row (often with a crossed-out camera icon) that switches it off electrically. External webcams may have a lens cap.
- 5
Update Zoom
From your profile picture, choose Check for Updates.
Still not working?
- Join the meeting from your browser to check whether the Zoom app itself is the problem.
