Controller

Use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on PC

The Pro Controller works on PCs over Bluetooth, and many games support it through Steam Input. Check above that your browser sees it.

Start with a quick test

Connect a controller by cable or Bluetooth, then press any button on it. Browsers only reveal a controller after a button press.

Steps

  1. 1

    Put it in pairing mode

Hold the small sync button on the top edge until the player lights run back and forth.

  2. 2

    Pair in Bluetooth settings

Windows: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Add device › Bluetooth. Mac: System Settings › Bluetooth. Choose Pro Controller.

  3. 3

Enable Steam Input for Switch controllers

In Steam › Settings › Controller, turn on Switch Pro controller support. Steam can also use Nintendo's button layout.

  4. 4

    Expect swapped A/B and X/Y

Nintendo puts A on the right and B at the bottom, the reverse of Xbox. Games may show the "wrong" prompts.

Still not working?

  • Remove the controller from Bluetooth and pair again if it connects but doesn't respond.
