Webcam flickering or banding
Flicker and rolling bands usually come from your room lights pulsing at the mains frequency while the camera captures at a slightly different rhythm.

Stappen
- 1
Use daylight or a different lamp
Some LED bulbs, dimmers and fluorescent tubes flicker invisibly. Turn them off and test with daylight or another lamp.
- 2
Set the power-line frequency
If your camera software has an anti-flicker or power-line frequency setting, match your mains: 50 Hz in most of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia; 60 Hz in North America and parts of South America. Japan uses 50 Hz in the east and 60 Hz in the west.
- 3
Avoid dimmed LEDs
Dimmed LEDs often switch on and off rapidly. Set them to full brightness.
- 4
Check the cable
Flicker that comes with colour glitches or dropouts points to a cable or USB port problem.
Werkt het nog steeds niet?
- A screen in the camera's view can show bands too. Turn it away or lower its brightness.
