Microphone not working in Discord

Discord only sends audio when your voice crosses its sensitivity threshold, so a quiet mic can look completely broken. Test your mic above, then adjust Discord.

Kroki

  1. 1

    Pick your input device

Open User Settings › Voice & Video and choose your microphone under Input Device. Raise Input Volume.

  2. 2

    Use the mic test

In Voice & Video, click Let's Check and speak. The bar should move.

  3. 3

    Check input sensitivity and mode

If Input Mode is Push to Talk, you need to hold your key. With Voice Activity, turn on automatic sensitivity or lower the threshold so your voice lights the bar green.

  4. 4

Allow Discord at the system level

On Windows: Settings › Privacy & security › Microphone, allow desktop apps. On a Mac: switch on Discord in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.

  5. 5

    Reset voice settings

At the bottom of Voice & Video, choose Reset Voice Settings, then select your mic again.

Nadal nie działa?

  • Check the server hasn't muted you, and that you aren't server-muted in the channel.
  • Run Discord in the browser to see whether the desktop app is the problem.
