Mac camera not working

On a Mac, the green light next to the camera shows it's in use. If an app can't see the camera, it usually lacks permission or another app is holding it.

Mulai dengan tes singkat

Langkah

  1. 1

    Allow camera access

Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera and switch on your browser or app. Quit and reopen the app afterwards.

  2. 2

    Choose the right camera

If an iPhone is nearby, Continuity Camera may be selected instead of the built-in camera. Choose the camera in the app's video settings.

  3. 3

Close other apps using the camera

Call apps, camera utilities and other browser tabs can hold the camera. Quit them, including from the system tray or menu bar, then try again.

  4. 4

    Check browser site settings

In Safari: Safari › Settings › Websites › Camera, set this site to Allow. In Chrome: site controls icon next to the address bar.

  5. 5

    Check the connection

Unplug the device and plug it into a different USB port, directly on the computer rather than through a hub. For wireless devices, charge them and re-pair.

  6. 6

    Restart

A restart releases devices that an app has frozen and reloads drivers. It fixes more problems than it should.

Masih belum berfungsi?

  • Open Photo Booth or FaceTime. If neither sees the camera, contact Apple Support.
  • Some USB-C hubs can't power webcams. Connect directly to the Mac.
