8BitDo controllers can connect in different modes, and each mode reports buttons differently. Note which mode you're in before testing.

Mode changes the layout
In an Xbox-style mode the browser uses the standard layout. In other modes, button numbers may differ from the diagram.
Pairing per mode
Each mode pairs separately over Bluetooth. Re-pair after switching mode.
